KS Series AGV Chip Product Roadmap
The Whalechip KS Series chips are purpose-built for smart mobility and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) applications, leveraging TSMC’s N12 process technology. The roadmap progresses from foundational control in KS-1 to advanced AI-driven decision-making in KS-3.
- KS-1: Dual-core RISC-V + basic NPU, designed for AGV basic motion control and route planning with low power consumption, scalable architecture, and localized support.
- KS-2 : Fully integrated SoC combining CPU, GPU, and NPU, supporting multi-sensor fusion and real-time environment perception. With 5G/V2X connectivity, it enables outdoor navigation and multi-vehicle cooperation.
- KS-3 : Highly integrated AIoT platform supporting AGV autonomous decision-making, multimodal perception, and real-time object recognition. Complies with industrial vehicle safety standards and offers a cloud management platform.
SoC Architecture and Technical Specifications
The KS Series adopts a highly integrated SoC architecture featuring dual-core RISC-V CPUs and NPU accelerators, with KS-2/KS-3 adding GPU processing and expanded sensor interfaces:- CPU & GPU: Supports RTOS and Linux dual operating systems, compliant with OpenCL/GLES 3.2, enabling real-time image processing and map rendering.
- NPU: INT8/FP16 mixed-precision computing with 16–32 TOPS performance, supporting major AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and ONNX.
- Connectivity & Sensors: Supports CAN FD, 5G NR, V2X, TSN-enabled Ethernet, integrates up to 8-channel LiDAR, IMU, ultrasonic sensors, and dual-camera stereo vision processing for enhanced depth perception.
- Safety: Dual-core lock-step redundancy design, ASIL-C/D automotive safety compliance, secure boot, and OTA firmware updates.
